Tonight with OMID

Omid Djalili piloted a bilingual chat show for the BBC. The Anglo-Iranian comedian shot two versions of Tonight With OMID, one for BBC Persian in Farsi and another in English that producers are aiming at BBC Two.

Both half-hour pilots, shot at the Celebro Studios in London earlier in the year (2022), featured Tehran Von Ghasri, a US comedian of Persian descent, and houseband The Turbans, a London-based world music collective.

Djalili posted footage of himself jamming with the band during recording on his Instagram.

Background

We collaborated with Amelia Annfield who was heading up the art direction on set to create a striking identity for his new bilingual chat show which will be aired on the BBC.

Branding

The brand consisted of a glowing typeface to portray that ‘name up in lights’ mantra. This was then accompanied by a scripted font to give that personal ‘signature’ look and feel. We also developed the logo to match the bilingual tendencies of the show and created an English version as well as a Persian version.
