1 Put yourself in the shoes of your target audience – establish what they are really looking for.
2 Determine what the clients trigger point is, there will always be one.
3 If you’re struggling to separate your target audience by sector, you can always separate them by geographic area and convey the message of being the ‘local’ supplier or the ‘best’ supplier in the area.
4 The ‘tone’ used is so very important, make sure the copy and tone is right for the reader.
5 Make all contact with the audience purposeful and informative and never leave more than 60 days without contact – that’s current clients, not just prospects.
